1. Free-Look Period. If you decide FamilySecure isn't right for you, you may cancel your policy within 30 days of your registration confirmation for a full refund of any premiums paid, with no cancellation fee. Contact support@familysecureinsure.com to request a free-look cancellation.
2. Cancelling After the Free-Look Period. After the initial 30-day window, you may cancel at any time from your account dashboard or by contacting our support team. Cancellation after this period is treated as a policy surrender rather than a refund — see Section 3.
3. Cash Value on Cancellation. If your policy has accumulated cash value at the time of cancellation, you may be eligible to receive the surrender value as described in your plan. Any applicable surrender charges, outstanding loans, or fees will be deducted before funds are released. Estimated timelines for disbursement are noted in your dashboard; actual timing may vary.
4. How to Cancel. You can request cancellation through any of the following:
5. Effect of Cancellation. Once a cancellation is processed, your death benefit and any other coverage under the policy end. Reinstating coverage after cancellation may require a new application and, depending on how much time has passed, new underwriting.
6. Missed Payments vs. Cancellation. A missed premium payment alone does not cancel your policy immediately. Policies typically enter a grace period, during which accumulated cash value may be used to cover a missed payment, before lapsing. This is distinct from a voluntary cancellation initiated by you.
7. Partial Withdrawals. Requesting a partial withdrawal of cash value is not the same as cancelling your policy. Partial withdrawals reduce your available cash value and may reduce your death benefit, but your policy remains active. Full cancellation/surrender ends the policy entirely.
8. Changes to This Policy. We may update this cancellation policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where required, communicated directly to active policyholders.
